• Description: In patients with clinically relevant weight gain, inability to lose weight through diet or exercise alone, or a current body mass index (BMI) > 25, there is the option of medication-assisted weight loss through weight loss injections. Mounjaro / Tirzepatid. The initial consultation involves a general discussion about the weight loss injection, clarification of the indication for therapy, and the necessary laboratory diagnostics. The second consultation is a comprehensive consultation for the initiation of the weight loss injection. During therapy, monthly clinical checks are carried out during follow-up consultations and, if necessary, the dosage of the medication is adjusted. Mounjaro / Tirzepatid is injected subcutaneously once a week by the patient themselves. Treatment lasts between 3 and 12 months, during which time a weight reduction up to 20% of the initial weight can be achieved. Weight loss improves quality of life and reduces overall cardiovascular risk.
